Glass is the weakest security link on any property. Pinnacle Security Films Glass Retention Systems can provide you an extra layer of protection that is nearly invisible to the naked eye, offering valuable time for an emergency response or increasing occupant safety regardless of the situation.
Pinnacle can usually install a glass retention system that meets your specific needs, without any special site preparation on your part, making it quick and easy to improve overall building resiliency, while reducing harmful indoor ultraviolet rays.
Pinnacle Glass Retention Systems are available in three installation specifications: Daylight Application, Structural Adhesive Anchoring, and Mechanical Anchoring. Fragmentation Retention Films are available from 4 mil thickness to 12 mil thickness, depending on your project requirements. In all installation specifications, Fragment Retention Films are bonded on the interior of the glass with an anchoring system added as specified by the client.
Daylight Installation
Daylight Installation is the bonding of Fragment Retention Film to the glass. The Fragment Retention Film is then trimmed at the existing window gasket or frame to provide a basic level of protection, to help keep glass in the frame in the event of breakage.
Wet Glaze Installation
Wet Glaze Installation is the bonding of Fragment Retention Film to the glass after removing excess rubber perimeter gaskets. The Fragment Retention Film is then trimmed at the frame and the adhesive is allowed to dry. The Fragement Retention Film is then bonded to the frame with structural silicone sealant. Once cured, Wet Glaze Installation provides an intermediate level of protection that meets GSA standards to achieve the anchoring performance necessary for GSA Blast Security Criteria.
Mechanically Anchored Installation
Mechanically Anchored Installation is the bonding of Fragment Retention Film to the glass and wrapping it onto the existing window frame. The Fragment Retention Film is then anchored to the frame with an aggressive transfer adhesive, then mechanically secured by bolting an aluminum batten over the Fragment Retention Film. A cosmetic cap is then installed to provide a clean, sharp appearance virtually invisible to building occupants. Mechanically Anchored Installation has been rigously tested to GSA Blast Security Criteria using various types of glass and window units.
